Description

This bit features traditional loose ring cheeks and a Myler MB 33WL wide low ported barrel mouth. This is a Myler level 3 bit. It is USEF 2012 and FEI 2016 Dressage Legal. Consult the organization's rulebook for more information.

The MB 33WL (wide low) mouthpiece was made specifically to meet the requirements of the USEF dressage rules, making this the only USEF dressage legal Level 3 mouthpiece. The port is 29mm high and generously wide, providing ample room for the tongue. Because the port is lower than the standard MB 33, the MB 33WL does not offer quite as much tongue relief, but it is by far the most tongue relief available in a dressage legal mouthpiece.

The loose ring is generally considered one of the most non-interfering cheekpieces because the mouthpiece slides freely around the ring. However, the play in the mouthpiece can make it difficult for a horse to find your hands as the mouthpiece is in continual motion. The movement of the mouthpiece can also exaggerate or create a busy mouth in young or anxious horses. It is best suited for more advanced horses fully schooled in leg and seat aids as well as rein aids.

Features:

  • Loose ring cheeks
  • Low wide port curved mouth
  • Stainless steel with copper inlay
  • Independent side motion
  • MB 33WL, Level 3
  • USEF 2012 and FEI 2016 Dressage Legal. Consult the organization's rulebook for more information.
